The Winter League was 'wrapped up' last night when Robert Shand, Ian Kerr, Marie Fisher, Phil Ward and Pam Kerr won their penultimate game.

Congratulations to them all.

The last round of games will be played early in the new year which will determine the final placings.

Results - Curl Aberdeen Club Bonspiel 2

Saturday 28 November saw the second of three Club Bonspiels. Again it was a capacity entry with 12 clubs on the ice. Aberdeen won their first two games beating Laurencekirk and then Rotary. The final match against Petroleum would decide the Bonspiel winner. It was a closely fought game but unfortunately Aberdeen were narrowly beaten and as a result finished in fifth position overall but 8 points were earned added to our total.

(Incidentally in the one of the other matches there was an 82 year difference between the youngest and oldest player on the ice.)

Results - Centenary Bonspiel

6 teams were on the ice this afternoon to contest the Centenary Trophy.

With 3 wins Peter Knoll, Ian Mckay, Jill Johnston  and Neil Paterson lifted the first silverware of the season and a bottle of wine each. Ian Ingram, Cara Morrison, Katrina Beaton, Ru Macdonald and Richard Morrison were runners up, also with 3 wins.

After the curling 18 members stayed on for Steak Pie and Sticky Toffee pudding preceeded by the presentation of the trophy and prizes.

Saturday 10 October saw the first of three Club Bonspiels. It was a capacity entry with 12 clubs on the ice. Aberdeen won all three games beating Donalds, Laurencekirk and Granite City Ladies and finished runners up to Banchory on ends and earned 11 points in the process.

Season 2015/16

Welcome to a new season of curling.

This season's information has now been uploaded and all members should have received their membership pack this week. If you have not received it please get in touch with the Secretary.

 

You should also have received your Curl Aberdeen Member's Handbook in the post.

 

Our club commences curling on Thursday 17 September at 6.15pm with 8 rinks on the ice. There will be a Skips meeting held thereafter.

Please support the Club as best you can and regularly check the notice board and website for news, updates, results and all competition information.

Good curling to you all.

There will be no more posts until mid August when the season 2015/16 fixtures and teams will be published. However the club and it's officials can still be contacted.

In the meantime new member enquiries for next season are most welcome.

Spring League Winners

After this evening's final games 3 Rinks were tied on 7 wins and 1 loss but having won 4 more ends overall Ali Macrae, Chris Forbes, Nick Marshall and Norma Pratt win the Spring League Trophy.

Graeme Fisher, Marie Fisher, Phil Ward, Zoe Fisher and Lucy Fisher are runners up with 1 more end than Brian Yeat's rink.

Well done and congratulations to them all.

A good turnout of 16 members participated in the Points Competition this afternoon.

By scoring 29 points out of a possible 40 Graeme Fisher lifted the Claret Jug. Zoe Fisher and Robert Shand were joint runners up with 23 points.

Winter League Winners

By winning their final game last night Graeme Fisher, James Florance, Jill Johnston, Fiona Glascodine and Ian Kerr came from behind and finished in top spot.

Having played their final game before Christmas Norman Bruce, Marie Fisher, Bill Smith and Joanne Warnock are runners up.

Both rinks are tied on 20 points but Graeme's rink has 2 more ends overall. Congratulations to them all.

The remaining two games will be played this Sunday.
